Moldy Fig

Blending the styles of Jazz, Blues, R&B, Funk, and Rock, Moldy Fig is the band for music enthusiasts with a thirst for diversity and high energy. The band’s set-up includes one energetic lead singer, two very gifted female back up singers, local Oxford musicians on horns, and a driving rhythm section that will blow you away. The band is led by Damein Wash, an active conductor, composer/arranger, pianist, and soloist in the Oxford area. After graduating from Ole Miss with a degree in music education (2007), he taught public school music.  During which time he was nominated for the Yale Distinguished Music Educator Award (2010), and named Teacher of the Year (2012). Despite a very successful five years of teaching, four in the Oxford School District, he resigned to pursue a career in music production and performing full time.  Although he is a classically trained vocalist, gospel music and blues are the roots of his musical background.
