The AM Band are a band out of North Mississippi (Oxford) consisting of Zack Tillotson (drums) and Matt Gaylord (guitar) whose style is a loud, thick, groove-laden blend of blues, rock, and soul. Their setlist varies from overdriven, electric re-workings of classic hill-country material to riff-based, hard-rocking originals with a psychedelic blues edge. Inspired by, and following in the tradition of other great stripped-down, minimalist blues and rock bands (e.g., Cedric Burnside and Lightnin’ Malcolm, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Hound Dog Taylor and The Houserockers), their intent is to push the duo format to its limit while disseminating the gospel of the infectious southern vibe.
